Activity of the Foundation Studium Academicum in 2009

Scholarship

As part of our scholarship program we gave financial support for 24 young persons in the study year 2008-2009. Most of them were right before their bachelor or students, but others who were in special needs and having good results also could have part of our support.

Youth camp

In the camp organized together with the Dutch SGP party in Felsősófalva (Ocna de Sus) attended youth between 16-25. The main topic of the discussions that time was the attitude of the Christian towards the material things, and his realtionship to the money. Further it was also discussed the problem of poverty as a social reality and its impact as well. Part of the program was also the excursion organised in the pitoresque surroundings, and nontheless the visit of the places of interests. In the camp which lasted a whole week attended totally 27 young people.

Training for elders

Two times in 2009, both in the springtime and in the autumn we organized conferences on which we succeded to attrack about 120 elders coming from 16 different congregations. The actual questions concerning the leading of the congregation were in the focus of the discussions. After an introductory lecture, the difficulties of the given topic were discussed with each other, and the attendants could also change their experiences on that given area.

Conference

As it is already customary, this year we also organized together with SGP party the conference titled “The poverty and its impact.” After putting in chart how the subject is approached in the European Union, the experiences and pecularities from Romania came forth, too. The formulating of the possible Christian answers got a lot of space during the discussions.
