Pastors children’s camp - 13-19th of August 2006 - Algyógy/Geoagiu

Dr. Kállay Dezso theological professor, and his wife Kállay Eniko has led the pastors´ children camp organised in the IKE-YMCA Centre in Algyógy. The group of the 11 pastors´ children was enlarged with three Dutch youth. They were getting know each other and the environment, and were horrified as they confront with the environmental damage which caused a deep ecological wound in the region.               

It was the second camp for pastors´ children with such a character organised with the SGP.

As they acquainted the towns of Szászváros, Vajdahunyad and Déva, they could travel hundreds or even thousands of years in the past. They were walking at places where were existing already people in the Bronz Age, where nations were meet and mixed with each other.  

The elevating historical past of the region was overshadowed by the present reality: the much environmental pollution which was overwhelmed by the Ceausescu era over the people living in the region. The effects are even now not really recognizable and probably will still expire many years until the wounds of the land and the people will heal.

The intact remained natural beauty had on the other hand many pleasure assured for the participants. The rambles on the mountains and humps, the fresh water of the baths from Algyógy, the beauty of the sundown helped to forget the ugliness.

The common spent wiled time was enriched and coloured with bible studies and different free time activities. All this had implied a spiritual and physical improvement for all presents.
