Children and confirmand evangelisation programs
10th of Julie 2006 - 27th of August 2006 - Different Localities
After the decision of the Foundation Studium Academicum and the offered financial support of the Foundation KOEH from Holland the evangelisation programs for children and confirmand youth was organised.
The professional and detailed program prepared by Edit Szilágyi - certificated youth worker (graduate at the CVJM Kolleg Kassel) - was guided by her and fulfilled with some selected co-workers and some volunteers of the local congregations.
Children programs:
“You are unique” resounded as motto in the three Localities - Nagyszántó, Biharvajda, and Bihar - at the organised evangelisation programs. The base of the program was the touching apologue of Max Lucado, which was supplemented with certain biblical stories, a lot of games, and creative activities. The eventful actions have coupled the mixed groups with curious children of the different congregations.
The multicolour; the talents; the different amount of the given capacity; the equal love of the carver master, of the appreciator Lord; - all this thinks have made understandable for the kids/trolls with their children heart but with serious questions, that all of them are very valuable, independently from the meaning of the other people.
Nagyszántó - Children evangelisation
Between 10-12th of Julie 2006 in the reformed congregation of Nagyszántó at the programs organised by Edit Szilágyi and her volunteer co-workers were participating daily 25-30 children.
One of the most popular games was the Twister.
The little and young participants have demonstrated with great effort, that their memory is adequate to remember the pictures in the memory game.
For the needlework and the preparation of the theme regarded handicraft workshop it was necessary the assistance.
The interest was also not flagging by the hearing of the biblical stories.
By the outdoor game with the big parachute got all the participants moving.
Confirmand camp - Sólyomkovár
Rev. László Szilágyi - the Project manager of the Foundation Studium Academicum - two theological students Szabó József and Berke Eszter as well as the curator of the reformed church Biharvajda, Barcsa János as cook have organised the confirmand camp between 24-29th of Julie 2006.
The 30 participants from seven different congregations have been confronted with many provocations and surprises, as they - regarding to the planned program - were getting know their own spiritual likeness. (See the typology of melancholically, sanguine, choleric, and phlegmatic)
They were after the first days.
The painting of the stones made understandable for the some times numb youth that the internal diversity is making us similar variable as the stones, even if we remain the same (stones) persons.
After the filling up of the tests was resulted, that in whom which are the dominant characters. In the next days the youth could scarcely waited the lectures to get clearly which characteristics with what kind of difficulties should have, and what sort of incredible values they carrying.
The evening camp-fires, the evening devotions at the fire and the singing were the main feature of the days.
Role games (the prodigal son), situation games, and many other activities have coloured and made understandable for the participants that their existence and their nature is accepted, even more, is estimated by God.
Number war, confidential games and different surprises (sweetmeats, dance) have educated the youth to attend for each other, and to “Be ye angry, and sin not”.
Also the evening programs doesn’t absented.
The last days we have built an altar: “Anyone is fit with its multicolour into the altar of Lord”.
We had to repeat to build our altar: “It is not important, who is to see or who it isn’t, who is bigger or who is smaller, because every stone has its irreplaceable place in the altar of the Lord. Nobody can take your place in the people of God, but your task can be also not fulfilled by others”.
We ended the unforgettable confirmand camp with a divine service and Lord supper.
“We are coming next year again” - resounded the pretension of the enthusiast group.
Biharvajda - Children evangelisation
With enthusiasm learning of songs were coming together the children between 8-12th of August 2006 in Biharvajda, this was acknowledged with satisfaction by Edit Szilágyi and her fellow-workers.
The 35-40 daily returned kids have zeal fulfilled all the programs.
The outdoor programs were popular also here.
The hand work activities and the small workshops have contained also many surprises.
The fascination of the balance of the Word of God was presented through the “Mobile game”, which was prepared with excitement from the kids. After that they produced some juggler balls.
With dry plasticine prepared “valuables” were presented in the church, to be a remembrance for younger and older to the unforgettable values, to by God given talents.
Bihar - Children evangelisation
Volunteers from different religions were led by Edit Szilágyi for the program with the 25-40 children from different churches. The evangelisation program organised between 22-27 August 2006 was already the second one in the reformed congregation.
After the projection the songs and the dance had also fascinated the children group.
The preparation of the treasures boxes - which has resulted, that God has also each individual created (see the story of Max Lucado) - was a big experience too.
If they were singing with pleasure, then the kids too were joining with pleasure.
The kneading and the painting seem to be the same very popular.
The drawing and the colouring were the favourite occupation of the littlest.
All over the permanent moving and the occupation was the secrete assurance of the attention.
It was worth the effort, this work is meritorious to be long term continued - has concluded Edit Szilágyi - the preparatory and leader of the complete summer children and confirmand evangelisation programs - in her end evaluation.
